Duties of Invigilator in Examination

1. Before the Start of Examination

  • The invigilator must reach the examination center at least 45 minutes before the start of the paper.
  • Mark attendance immediately upon arrival.
  • Go to the assigned examination room.
  • Check whether all seats are marked according to the seating plan.
  • If seat numbers are not written, write them clearly on desks.

2. Arrival of Students & Seating Arrangement

  • As students arrive, guide each student to their seat according to the seating plan.
  • Ensure proper seating arrangement and discipline in the room.
  • Maintain appropriate distance between students.

3. Initial Instructions to Students

  • Clearly warn all students that no unauthorized material is allowed inside the examination hall.
  • Strictly prohibit mobile phones, Android watches, Apple watches, or any electronic devices.
  • Ask students to check themselves carefully.
  • Advise students to remove and deposit any unauthorized material outside the examination center.
  • Inform students that if any material is found later, strict action will be taken.
  • If possible, conduct random or complete checking of students.

4. Before Distribution of Papers

  • Ensure all students are seated according to the seating plan.
  • Ensure complete silence and discipline in the examination hall.

5. At the Start of Examination

  • When answer sheets are provided by the Deputy Superintendent, ensure all students fill in their details correctly.
  • Verify that students write their name, roll number, and other required information accurately.

6. During Objective Paper

  • Ensure each student writes the correct paper code on the answer sheet.
  • Ensure each student writes their roll number correctly on the objective paper.
  • Closely monitor students to prevent any cheating.

7. General Supervision During Exam

  • Strictly prevent cheating in all forms.
  • Ensure students maintain proper distance and discipline.
  • Ensure no student copies from another student.
  • Ensure each student's answer sheet is properly folded.
  • Ensure the question paper is placed on top of the answer sheet so that no answers are visible.

8. Collection of Objective Paper

  • When the objective paper time ends, collect all papers in proper order.
  • Ensure no paper is left with any student.

9. Subjective Paper Handling

  • When subjective papers are distributed, ensure students write their roll numbers correctly.
  • Continue strict supervision to prevent copying.

10. Attendance Sheet Handling

  • Ensure all students sign the attendance sheet.
  • Ensure students write paper code and answer sheet number on the attendance sheet.
  • Clearly mark absent students.
  • After completion, sign the attendance sheet with your name and signature.

11. Thumb Impression Process

  • Provide ink pad to students one by one.
  • Ensure each student places thumb impression twice on the answer sheet.

12. Half-Time Instructions

  • Announce clearly when half-time is reached.
  • Inform students they may leave after half-time if permitted.
  • Continue collecting papers in proper order.

13. End of Examination

  • Collect all answer sheets from students.
  • Arrange all papers roll number wise.
  • Ensure total papers match attendance.

14. While Sitting During Duty

  • If the invigilator sits, ensure all students remain visible.
  • Maintain full supervision at all times.

15. Submission to Superintendent

  • Submit all collected papers to the superintendent.
  • Count papers carefully before submission.
  • Inform roll number sequence properly.
  • Ensure proper handover and verification.

16. Administrative Responsibilities

  • On the first day, provide the following details to the superintendent:
    • Name
    • Bank Account Number
    • Bank Name
    • Account Title
    • Branch Code
    • Branch Address
    • IBAN Number
  • Submit salary slip for payment processing.
Important Note: The invigilator must wear the Assistant Superintendent badge during duty at all times.
